I have been thinking about Christmas books lately. I checked and found that I make 11 different 
miniature books about The Night Before Christmas by Clement C. Moore. It was originally
 titled A Visit From St. Nicholas and published in a newspaper in 1823. This title was first 
published as a  children’s book in 1848. I have made 11 miniature versions dating from 1886
 to the 1950’s. Two versions are titled A visit from St. Nicholas and A Visit From Santa Claus. 
The other nine versions are titled The Night Before Christmas.

THE MOST POPULAR CHILDREN'S BOOK OF ALL TIME 5-31-2026

 I was curious this morning about what is the most popular children's book of all time. I have done google searches on this topic in the past. This time I was rather surprised. The Little Prince written and illustrated by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry has sold over 200 million copies since it was published in 1943. The first Harry Potter book, The Sorcerer's Stone, has sold 120 million copies. The Hobbit has sold 100 million copies. I ave made miniature versions of all three books and they are available in my ebay store.

 Pride And Prejudice full text of the first five chapters with 2 full page color plates and 3 full page black and white illustrations in 25 pages.

Sense And Sensibility full text of the first three chapters with 2 full page color plates in 27 pages.

Mansfield Park full text of the first two chapters with 2 full page color plates in 30 pages.

Emma full text of the first four chapters with 2 full page color plates in 30 pages.

Northanger Abbey full text of the first three chapters with 5 full page color plates in 31 pages.

Persuasion full text of the first two chapters with 2 full page color plates in 25 pages.

Lady Susan full text of the first fourteen letters with 1 full page color plate in 29 pages.

 Each volume measures 31/32 inch high by 25/32 inch wide by 3/16 inch thick. They are constructed using traditional book making techniques and other techniques I have developed for making miniature books. The spines are printed with the titles so the volumes will look well on a bookshelf. I personally make each book. My miniature books are not intended for children and are not toys.  THE PICTURES ARE LARGE TO ENABLE CLOSE VIEWING OF THE BOOK DETAILS.

 HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!!! It's been a few days since I have posted due to various family matters. As always family comes first. I am sure many of you are getting together this weekend to celebrate Memorial Day in whatever fashion pleases you. 

My latest adventure with Walter Crane is designing 1:6 scale books of four classic fairy tales: Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Sleeping Beauty and the Three Bears. !:6 scale is usually referred to as Playscale or Barbie scale.

This volume measures l and 11/16 inch high by 1 and 5/16 inch wide by 3/16 inch thick.
