WALTER CRANE CLASSIC FAIRY TALES

 HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!!! It's been a few days since I have posted due to various family matters. As always family comes first. I am sure many of you are getting together this weekend to celebrate Memorial Day in whatever fashion pleases you. 

My latest adventure with Walter Crane is designing 1:6 scale books of four classic fairy tales: Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Sleeping Beauty and the Three Bears. !:6 scale is usually referred to as Playscale or Barbie scale.






1:6 SCALE MINIATURE BOOK CINDERELLA WALTER CRANE  PLAYSCALE BARBIE SCALE

CINDERELLA is a hardbound, handmade miniature reproduction of Cinderella by Walter Crane originally published by George Routledge and Sons Publishers in1873 as #106 of the Six Penny Toy Books.  It contains 10 pages (not including the flyleaves) with the complete text and 8 full color plates. This volume measures l and 11/16 inch high by 1 and 5/16 inch wide by 3/16 inch thick. 

1:6 SCALE MINIATURE BOOK LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD WALTER CRANE PLAYSCALE BARBIE SCALE

LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD is a hardbound, handmade miniature reproduction of Little Red Riding Hood by Walter Crane published by the John Lane Company in 1898 as a re-issue. It contains 8 pages (not including the flyleaves) with the complete text and 8 full color plates. This volume measures l and 11/16 inch high by 1 and 5/16 inch wide by 3/16 inch thick.

 SLEEPING BEAUTY is a hardbound, handmade miniature reproduction of Sleeping Beauty by Walter Crane published by George Routledge and Sons Publishers in 1876. It is number 116 of Routledge’s Six Penny Toy Books.. It contains 8 pages (not including the flyleaves) with the complete text and 8 full color plates. This volume measures l and 11/16 inch high by 1 and 5/16 inch wide by 3/16 inch thick.

THE THREE BEARS is a hardbound, handcrafted miniature reproduction of The Three Bears by Walter Crane published by George Routledge and Sons Publishers in 1873. It is number 105 of Routledge’s Six Penny Toy Books. It contains 8 pages (not including the flyleaves) with the complete text and 8 full color plates. There are many full color illustrations interspersed in the text. This volume measures l and 11/16 inch high by 1 and 5/16 inch wide by 3/16 inch thick.
